Spiritual Companionship
There are as many definitions of spiritual direction, spiritual guidance, or spiritual companionship as there are people who offer it. I prefer the term spiritual companion to describe what I offer. Companions are fellow travelers on the spiritual path—people who listen deeply, hold confidences, and remain compassionate, open, and impartial. A spiritual companion honors the inner wisdom of their fellow traveler and does not act as an authority on that person’s spiritual truth.
My approach to spiritual companionship is rooted in the belief that each of us holds a deeper field of truth—an innate wisdom that connects us to something greater than ourselves. This truth may be grounded in one or many religious or wisdom traditions, or it may arise from something that transcends them altogether. By turning inward and listening with curiosity to that deeper field, we can awaken to our most authentic, connected, and loving nature.
As your spiritual companion, my intention is to create a welcoming, affirming, contemplative, and compassionate space for you to explore. I offer hospitality to all metaphors and expressions that give voice to your unique sacred story. It is a great honor and privilege to walk alongside those I companion.
Grief Companionship
Grief is something that touches us all.
It’s a natural part of life, one we inevitably experience as our circumstances change—bringing the possibility of separation from people, places, or things we hold dear. Some losses are small and manageable, while others, such as the death of a loved one, can alter us deeply.
How we live with our losses can make the difference between remaining lost in suffering or finding a path toward healing and resilience. Having the compassionate presence of a trained grief companion can help you navigate this journey, transforming your grief and guiding you back into life with renewed vitality.
Grief has not been fully normalized in our culture.
It’s often far more complex than we’ve been led to believe. Each person’s experience with grief is unique—it unfolds in its own way and its own time. Yet there are common threads in the grieving process that, when named and given context, can bring solace and meaning.
I offer grief companionship that honors your individual process—helping you meet your sorrow with a spiritual, compassionate, and heart-centered approach. Together, we create space for healing, growth, and the gentle return of life’s vitality.
Contemplative Practice and Ritual
Contemplative practices offer a profound refuge—a place where we can quiet the activity of daily life and turn inward, in gentle companionship with ourselves and whatever mystery lies beyond. As we slow our breath and our thoughts, we create space to feel grounded, connected, and at ease in stillness. These practices cultivate stability of mind and help bring you home to yourself.
Rituals offer a bridge between the inner world and the sacred. Whether through nature-based invitations, grief rituals, healing ceremonies, or prayer, to name just a few examples, these practices invite us to slow down, bear witness to our own journey, and attune to that which is greater than ourselves.
These kinds of intentional practices open us to compassion and healing, help us connect more deeply with ourselves, our fellow travelers, and the more-than-human world, and cultivate a richer sense of wholeness.
